About Us

How We Came to Be:

While we were all interested in blogging, not all of us had the time to maintain our own individual blogs.  Since our interests seemed to fall under the umbrella of “geek”, we decided to form a collective.  As we share the work, we share the rewards by promoting our fellow bloggers and drawing in a wide variety of readers!

The Goal:

The Geektastics is a collaborative community focused on being inclusive rather than exclusive.  Our goal is to be a welcoming environment for geeks of ALL genders, races, sexual orientations, gender orientations, religions, political views, and nationalities.  As with all close-knit communities and cliques, the geek community can be elitist.  The Geektastics is a place for anyone who is obsessed with niche interests, passionate about the things they love, and excited to share those things with others who are equally obsessed and passionate.

The Mission Statement:

The Geektastics promote pride in being unique, intelligent, and true to yourself.

The Community:

Mini Blogs.  Rather than have a large blog written by one person, we have several mini blogs written by a variety of community members and tailored to specific interests.  If you have a great idea for a mini blog, let us know!

Social Media.  Since this is a community, we want people to be involved!  In addition to Facebook and Twitter, we have Flickr and YouTube accounts where we hope members will post their pictures and videos to share with the entire community.  We also have a Google+ page where readers can talk via Hang Outs.

If you are interested in joining the team, please email us! You can keep up with updates by following us on Twitter and like our Facebook page, as well as joining our other social media accounts!
